Karen
Turpin, Principal
Both my professional career and volunteer endeavors
have focused on developing long-term relationships
and finding creative financial solutions for both
business clients and nonprofit organizations. I
began my professional career with NationsBank in
Charlotte, NC. During my fifteen years in the financial
services industry, I developed commercial business,
managed loan portfolios, and designed and taught
customized programs for regional financial services
companies.
Continuing
to enjoy the challenges of beginning new entrepreneurial
ventures, I led the regional marketing expansion
and business development efforts throughout New
England for an international corporate education
company from 1999-2001.
In
early 2002, I was one of the founding prinicpals
of the WERC Consulting Group. I enjoy working with
nonprofit leadership in the areas of fund development
and stewardship, board development and marketing.
My
commitment to the nonprofit sector in my community
has always been a priority. In recent years I served
on the Academy of Notre Dame's Board of Trustees'
Development Committee and was a member of the Junior
League of Boston, teaching "Corporate Board
Roles and Responsibilities" to area boards.
Currently I serve on the Indian Hill School of Music
Board of Directors and lead the Indian Hill Parents'
Association.
I hold a BA in Economics and French from Salem College.
